What's included?
The AI Governance for Legal Professionals Certification program provides lawyers and legal professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to responsibly oversee and advise on the use of AI technologies within organizations.
Through four focused courses—including a dedicated legal module—participants build a strong foundation in AI fundamentals, risk assessment, governance practices, and the legal and regulatory landscape for AI. The program begins with essential AI literacy, explaining how AI systems work, their benefits, and potential risks. It then moves into practical frameworks for identifying and managing AI-related risks in business and legal contexts.
The specialized legal course explores compliance obligations, emerging laws and standards, contractual considerations, and strategies for mitigating legal risk in AI deployments. Participants will also examine key governance standards such as the EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, ensuring they can support alignment with regulatory and ethical expectations.
By completing the program, legal professionals will be equipped to recognize AI risks, advise on appropriate governance and compliance measures, and contribute to responsible, legally sound AI strategies across industries. Certification is earned by completing the four courses, a practical capstone project, and a final certification exam.
